Gluteal Augmentation
Also known as Buttock Augmentation, Gluteal Augmentation denotes the plastic surgery and liposculpture procedures for the correction of the congenital, traumatic, and acquired defects and deformities of the buttocks and for the aesthetic enhancement (by augmentation or by reduction) of the contour of the buttocks. The corrective procedures for buttock augmentation include the surgical emplacement of a gluteal implant (buttock prosthesis); liposculpture (fat transfer and liposuction); and body contouring (surgery and liposculpture). Stem cells are used to enhance survival of transferred autologous fat.
